$ 375.00
See all images for a 'When Worn" representation. Fits a 6.5” - 7" wrist, this cuff represents the force of a Cailleach's true power. Created using the ancient method of lost wax casting, this cuff is made of weeping cherry boughs brought down by Hurricane Helene, an ivy leaf to honor the Cailleach's everlasting return in Winter and a cabochon of rock crystal hand carved with frost patterns found in early winter mornings.
In the fall of 2024, a hurricane defying all expectations, moved from the tropics into the Appalachian Mountains and devastated the mountain communities of Western North Carolina. My quiet life, and the vibrant fabric of our town, were irrevocably altered. As I navigated the aftermath – the relentless mud, flooding, and our community's collective grief – I found solace in the remnants of the storm itself. Fallen branches, crushed seed pods, and leaves torn from their trees became symbols of both destruction and resilience. These fallen sentinels, including ivy, holly, pine, and weeping cherry boughs, found new life within this collection. My hope is that these ephemeral remnants, made forever beautiful in sterling silver, will become a personal talisman of resilience for someone else needing shelter from life's storm.
Artist's Note: The work I bring to you is conceived and created entirely in my Asheville NC studio. Infused with inspiration from my connection to and appreciation of nature, combined with a desire to honor the balance of dark and light within each of us. Each piece I craft reflects quality, artisanship, and just a touch of magic.
