The Spider's Spiral in Sterling Silver

$ 165.00

Watching a few hardy spiders create their webs within my datura plants this Fall, I found a new appreciation for the ingenuity of spiders and their heroic quest to ensnare evening pollinators flitting about the moonlit blossoms. This pendant is inspired by the spider's steady toil of weaving her own universe while appearing to float gracefully in midair.

The spider is severing threads that no longer serve, strengthening the ties that matter most, creating her own world each day anew. It seems to me, the arachnid would be the perfect familiar to the shadow worker, someone spending their time examining their own life threads and reweaving a new path forward, integrating all aspects of their self to become someone new.

The datura's whorl is present in the spiral of the web. A plant beloved by many midnight garden witches and poison path followers. Herbalists and light work practitioners look to datura as a supporting character in working with the shadow self, and I wanted to bring that forward in this pendant. Let this be a personal talisman, rich in our secret symbology.

Cast in solid sterling silver the web is roughly 2" in diameter and is suspended on a delicate 18" chain. See second image for example when worn.

 Artist's Note: The work I bring to you is conceived and created entirely in my Asheville, North Carolina studio. It is infused with inspiration from my deep connection and appreciation of Nature, combined with my curiosity, and a desire to honor the balance of dark and light within each of us. Each piece I craft reflects quality, artisanship, and just a touch of magic.
