Purchasing Information

Most items are available for purchase directly via our online shopping cart. If you do not see your country quoted for shipping please email us directly with your city/country and the item you are interested in and we will send you a shipping quote with a link to complete purchase.

Shipping & Returns

Online shipping prices are for Continental US shipping only. If you are outside of the lower 48, please contact us for a shipping quote.

For oversized items, a shipping quote may not be available on the website. Please contact us by phone or email for a freight quote.

Purchases are usually shipped within a week from confirmed payment. We send items insured UPS or USPS, depending upon item size and final destination. Oversized items may be required to be sent by freight. If this is the case, we have several freight companies we use to provide you with the best price.

We will try our best to work with our customers' deadline requirements, if stated, at time of order consummation. We cannot guarantee “rush service” and rarely offer next day shipping.

For international shipping, customs and duty charges are the customer's responsibility. We cannot and will not mark international shipments as gifts in order to avoid duty or VAT taxes. Please note: International shipments refused for high import taxes are not returned to us, please be aware of your import taxes before ordering.

All US orders are shipped with tracking and insurance provided by the carrier. International orders are also sent insured.

While we pack each item with care and an excess of packaging, we cannot be responsible for items once they have left our care. Insurance is included in all purchases for this reason. We do not refund item purchase price for items damaged in shipping, but we will work with the carrier to submit a claim for you. All shipping charges are buyer’s responsibility.

In the event that an item or shipping box arrives damaged

First, contact us immediately so that we may begin the claims process. If the shipper/carrier is still there, ask them to wait while you unpack the item to see if the contents are damaged. Save ALL packing materials. These materials are required for the insurance claim and will possibly be needed for physical inspection by the carrier’s adjuster. Take photos of the damage from all angles and, if possible, leave the item in the box. Do NOT attempt to make repairs yourself as this will void any potential insurance claim.

Return Policy

All sales are FINAL and we do not offer an on-approval period unless we have been contacted prior to purchase.

Chase & Scout offers a conditional refund period on our merchandise for 5 days from date of receipt of item by buyer if merchandise does not accurately reflect website description by Chase & Scout. It must be returned in the same condition and via the shipper the item was originally sent with. We do not refund shipping fees. Chase & Scout is not responsible for shipping fees if an item is to be returned. If you are in a large city and making a return will be difficult for you, please take this into consideration before making your purchase. Chase & Scout is not responsible for making shipping arrangements for returns. Please contact us prior to making a return.

The majority of the items on our website are listed as in “very good”, “restored” or “vintage original” condition and once in a while as "new” or “near mint”. We are very particular about the condition of merchandise sold on the site and make every effort to disclose defects that we know to be of concern to collectors in any given area.

Usually, we refuse to sell items with major flaws or defects, and any “as-is items” or “restoration projects” offered for sale are strictly labeled as such and priced accordingly.

We are aware of and sensitive to the fact that condition standards vary by individual. If this is your first purchase of a vintage item, please be aware that all vintage items have a certain amount of wear and no vintage item is “near mint” unless it is still in the box. Vintage items will, and should, show some signs of life and/or age.

If there are any specific points of possible concern to you, please let us know BEFORE making your purchase so that we can address them. If you are left feeling unsure after further discussion, please consider our shipping and return policies before making a purchase.

Returns and refunds are no fun for anyone -- please let us know if we can be of service in answering any questions you may still have prior to making your purchase.
